Temperature regulation
The Harvst heated seed trays are temperature-regulated using an internal thermostat. The default setting is 15 degrees Centigrade. To change the required temperature, you will need to use a phone or tablet to log on to the Device Control Panel via WiFi.
See here for how to access the Device Control Panel.
Note that the chosen setting is the internal base of the tray, and you may want to set the temperature a couple of degrees higher for the soil temperature to reach the target temperature.
Power supply
The heated trays require a constant 12V DC at a maximum of 1.3Amps. They are available with two different connectors:
- DC jack 2.1mm x 5.5mm : For H-mini and H-series.
- CM12 waterproof connector for S-range of mini greenhouses, or WaterMate 4S.
Using with WaterMate 4S
You will need the heated tray model with a CM12 waterproof connector.
Using cable splitters, you can connect up to 4 heated seed trays to a single WaterMate 4-season output port. Ensure the WaterMate output port is on all the time, either using the timer settings, or a sensor, with a value which the sensor will never reach. Note that the heated trays have their own temperature control system and do not use the WaterMate sensors.
If you are also powering the lights for a Harvst propagator from your WaterMate 4S, we suggest a different output for the heated trays, so they remain on when the lights are off.
Using with H-mini
You will need the heated tray model with a DC jack plug.
Simply plug the heated tray into the "HEAT" output on the H-mini control board. This output is always on.
Using with H-series (H1 / H2 / H3)
You will need the heated tray model with a DC jack plug.
Plug a DC extension lead into the AUX output on the H-series control unit. Plug the heated tray into the extension lead. Using a DC jack splitter cable, up to three heated seed trays can be powered from the H-series aux output.
Using the Device Control Panel for the H-series main system, turn the AUX ouput on.
Using stand-alone
Use a 12V 3A power supply with a suitable adapter cable to power the heated tray.
Cable adapters
We sell adapters to link DC jack and CM12 - please get in touch if you require one of these.
Care and maintenance
The Harvst heated seed trays are water resistant, but not waterproof. Do not immerse in water.
