Parts required
- 5x screw-in pegs
- 5x push-in pegs
- Watering tray
- Drain spigot
- Drain pipe (with elbow)
- Nutrient feed hose cover pipe
- Hose elbow
If you are extending an H1:
- Straight hose joiner
Process
- Push the drain spigot into the watering tray so that the slot in the spigot lines up with the drain channel in the tray.
- Insert the push-in support pegs into the holes on the rear panel *.
- Insert the screw-in pegs into the front panel, using the pilot holes *.
- Place the tray onto the pegs, with the drain hole on the right.
- Fit the drain pipe onto the spigot, with the elbow at the bottom, facing backwards.
- Fit the feed hose cover pipe in front of the drain.
- Run the nutrient feed hose up from below, through the cover pipe and up into the watering tray.
If you are not fitting a further extension, it's time to fit the top irrigation parts:
- Push the hose elbow onto the feed hose.
- Push on a 100mm section of feed hose.
If you are fitting another level, leave the feed hose ready to continue up the stack.
Drain covers
Remove the drain cover from the bottom level, if you've put it in place. Drain covers with slots go on lower levels, and the drain cover with no slots goes on the top level.
* Note 1
If you have 10x screw-in pegs, create suitable pilot holes, if required, and screw the pegs in at the appropriate height, using the existing holes for guidance.
* Note 2
Some early parts have slightly larger 5mm pilot holes on the front panel, and the screw-in pegs aren't always secure. In this case, screw the peg in to the left or the right of the 5mm pilot hole.
